The article analyzes the content of modern textbooks on the history of Ukraine
in the context of reflecting the basic principles of multiculturalism and multiethnicity.
It is emphasized that these principles are the cornerstone in the process of
forming a European identity, and therefore they are important for the processes
of Ukraine’s integration into Europe. The conclusion is based on the inadequacy
of their presentation both at the factual and conceptual level in modern historical
literature for higher education and the need to correct this disadvantage.
Keywords: multiculturalism, polyethnicity, textbook, history of Ukraine.
