Ia. Sakal Global Economic Processes on the Part of Mexico in Integration Associations (Late 20th — Early 21th Ct.)

Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine

The influence of global and regional economic processes on the part of Mexico in integration associations is investigated. It is shown that the main cause of the country’s economic integration, which started in the second half of the twentieth century, was a high dependence on world trade situation and asymmetric trade relations with the United States. A part of Mexico in integration associations of the Latin American region (ALALC and ALADI) was analyzed. Proved that the geo-economic changes that have taken place in the world at the beginning of the 21st century, including the emergence of the strong regional economic center of Asia-Pacific countries and the growing power of China, creates additional incentives for economic integration of Mexico within Latin America to build more ef-fective economic relations between the regions. This diversification of foreign economic relations Mexico contributes to the gradual reduction of economic dependence
on the US, although this process is extremely slow.

Keywords: integration, Latin America, Mexico, the USA, Asia-Pacific.
