В статті поставлено за мету визначити, як подається природа литовсько-руської державності у період існування Великого Князівства Литовського, Руського і Жемайтійського в підручниках та навчальних посібниках для вищої школи України (виданих у період незалежності).

The purpose of our work is to define how nature of Lithuanian-Russian state system in a period of Great Duchy of Lithuania, Rus and Zhemantiya in textbooks and manuals for higher school of Ukraine (given out in a period independence) is given. The author compares looks to the problem, which exist among the textbooks and manuals authors, on nature of the Ukrainian state system in composition of Great Great Duchy of Lithuania, Rus and Zhemantiya to set, whether some general for their authors conception was produced, to define, as far as simply each interprets the problem of these authors. The nature of the Lithuanian state system means reasons and methods of power establishment of Lithuanians on Rusian lands, essence and displays of submission of these lands central power.
