У статті висвітлюється впорядкування української наукової природничо-технічної термінології під час національного відродження на західноукраїнських землях у XIX — на початку XX ст.

The main purpose of this article is to describe the process of formation of the Ukrainian natural-technical scientific terminology. The author took into consideration natural science, medical, physical, mathematical and chemical terminology in Western-Ukrainian lands of Austro-Hungarian Empire in the second half of the 19th to the early 20th century. The author came to the conclusion that the regulation, as well as the formation of the Ukrainian scientific natural-technical terminology, developed along with the Ukrainian literary language. Scientists I. Verkhratsky, V. Levitsky, E. Ozarkevych, S. Rudnitsky contributed to the process of codification of Ukrainian natural and technical terminology. The process of codification and functioning of the Ukrainian natural-technical terminology might have been effective in the Western Ukrainian in the 19th — early 20th century, if Ukrainian independent state had been formed.
